Top WordPress SEO Plugins
WordPress is one the most used system to build websites and there’s no doubt in that. With more and more businesses realizing the importance of SEO the popularity and number of SEO plugins has also increased. Thanks to all the developers that try their hardest to provide WordPress users with such plugins in order to make it easier for people to optimize their sites to improve the rankings. It is understood that due to so many SEO plugins out there you can get confused – so here are top three WordPress SEO plugins for you:
WordPress SEO by Yoast
Many people would agree that WordPress SEO by Yoast is one of the best SEO plugins out there for WordPress. It is loaded with a lot of features and the user interface is quite simple and user friendly that help to optimize the posts from your quality content. However, to make use of its features, you must choose one focus keyword and there’s no exception which might not be the ideal thing for many people. But once you choose a focus keyword it tells you whether it has been used in the page URL, title, content and meta descriptions and how many times it has appeared throughout the post.
Some of its prime features include XML Sitemaps, breadcrumbs, RSS optimization, complete page analysis, snippet previews, social integration, access to edit your .htaccess and robots.txt file and much more.It also has a premium version which incorporates some more advanced features.
All-In-One SEO Pack
The second best SEO plugin is All-In-One SEO pack that covers almost every other aspect of SEO for users quiet easily. Like WordPress SEO by Yoast, it also does all the basic stuff like automatically generating meta descriptions and optimizing post titles for search engines. To extend its functionality the plug-in also has a built-in API along with some other very useful features like support for Google Analytics, advanced canonical URLs, custom post types and you can also fine tune the navigation links of a page.
Lastly, it is quite effective in identifying any duplicate content found on most of the typical blogs and it is one of the only WordPress plug-in that provides SEO integration to e-commerce sites. It also has different premium packages and features for which you’ll have to spend some money.
SEO Ultimate
Our third and last entry – the SEO Ultimate is also a pretty good plug-in that incorporates some powerful features. The plug-in gives you the ability to rewrite the meta descriptions, title tags and create deep links with the use of anchor text. Its main features include the link mask generator, canonicalizer, permalink tweaker, rich snippet creator, slug optimizer, 404 monitors and much more.
Honorary Mention
SEO Plugin by Squirrly – it can make a pretty good tie with any of the above mentioned plug-ins because it is a really good all-rounder SEO plugin that provides all the features to you in order to optimize your posts and write SEO optimized content.
All in all, any of the above mentioned SEO plug-in can get the basic SEO stuff done which is pretty much enough for almost every other WordPress site. The best part is all of them are free of cost, so there’s no harm in trying them one by one and then selecting the one that suits you best. These plugins does not guaranteed top rankings. You need to have a quality site with quality contents and quality back links to be able to rank at the top of search engines.
I’m in the process of switching my blog over to WordPress. Once everything is switched over I’ll be focusing on my SEO content. I’ll definitely check out these plugins!

However, I been doing SEO for the past 5 years and All-In-One SEO Pack has never failed me.
Thank you for your sharing.
WordPress SEO by Yoast sounds like a great tool. Do you think the premium features are worth paying for? The complete page analysis sounds useful but I’m not sure it would be worth upgrading.
Hi Jessi,
My personla opinion is the free part from SEO by Yoast is good enough.
